BHCC Athletic Teams
The Men’s Soccer Team completed their regular season with a record of 9-wins, 7-losses and 1-tie, catapulting them to their fifth
consecutive trip to the Regional Final Four Tournament held in Manchester, CT. The Bulldogs continued their championship pursuit by
defeating Bristol C.C. in the semi-final match by a score of 2-1 in regulation. With the victory over the BCC Bees, the Bulldogs improved
their overall record to 10-7 and earned their fourth consecutive trip back to the regional finals match against defending champions,
Manchester C.C. The team fought valiantly, but unfortunately was defeated by the Cougars by a score of 3-0.
The 2008 fall soccer season was not only an historical campaign for the players, but also for the Head Coach, who was voted as the
Region 21 “Coach of the Year” for the third time in his career.
The Women’s Soccer Team was very competitive this year in their regional and state conferences. This season was a rebuilding year for
the Lady Bulldogs and for the first year Head Coach. This Coach came to Bunker Hill Community College with a wealth of soccer
knowledge and experience. He is very optimistic in terms of the future for BHCC women’s soccer, and is confident that he can build the
program. With a strong recruiting class, and playing experience from some of his returning players, the Coach feels the team should be
battling for a championship title in the near future.
The Women’s Basketball Team is on a mission to return back to championship form under their first year Head Coach. The Coach is
very excited about the future of the Lady Bulldogs basketball program, and is confident he can get the ship moving in the right direction by
recruiting the right pieces to fit the puzzle for his program.
The Men’s Basketball Team had a very strong season this past year finishing with a .500 regular season record in 2008-2009. The
Bulldogs rebounded from a dismal 9 – 16 record in 2007-2008 season, to a much improved 11 wins and 11 losses in the state and regional
conferences. With a stronger attitude and team philosophy, the Bulldogs were able to compete on a much higher level and became title
contenders, earning a trip to the Final Four (MCCAC) State Tournament and a top six finish in the (NJCAA) Regional Tournament.
Their Coach is currently hard at work with recruiting, and likes his team’s chances for the 2009-2010 season.
Co-ed Golf
The golfers of BHCC had a very strong and competitive season this year. The team participated in four NJCAA golf events last spring, and
earned a lot of respect along the way from some of the top golf programs in the league such as Community College of Rhode Island and
defending regional champions, Holyoke C.C.
Men’s Baseball
The Bulldogs swung their way into the history books this past season under a newly appointed Head Coach and his staff. In just their first
season at Bunker Hill, the team captured its first Massachusetts Community College Athletic Conference State Championship, and was
runner-up in the National Junior College Athletic Association Regional Tournament. The Coach and company played masterfully during
the spring 2009 baseball season, posting a team record of 22 wins and just 9 losses. Three players were named to the NJCAA All-
American Team and seven players were selected to the “All New England Regional Team.”
