New look at Wetlands Bill The iontroversial Wetlands Aft of 1970 was passed by the Slot* 1 Assembly Monday despite the ohjiu-tions of ten South Jersey assembly men, The bill now goes to Governor William T C'nhill, why will sign it into law Thij bill, passed with Si'tinte amendments, requires that a permit hv obtained from the State Oepsirtmenl of Environmental Protection before any draining, dumping, dredging, alteration, pollution or building of any kind can take place nn the wetlands of the stale, Another provision nf the Act would prohibit development of wetlands less than an elevation of one foot above local extreme high water.
