Dollos Chopter 4l is deeply soddened to onnounce the<br />

untimely deoths of members Borney Moffott, WSCJZ, ond<br />

Jock Dye, WSLUE, which were unexpected. Borney, who<br />

in 2007 wos feotured in o Journol orticle upon being<br />

oworded o7S-Yeor Operoting Certificote, led on octive<br />

life up to the lost ot oge 94. Jock wos o long{ime member<br />

of both the Dollos ond Fort Worth chopters ond regulorly<br />

ottended the QCWA notionol conventions with his wife<br />

Doris. He wos olso founder of the "Jock Dye Greot Tower<br />

Give-A-Woy Progrom" which prepored pool lists of members<br />

or surviving fomily members hoving useoble but no<br />

longer needed towers, ontennos, rodios or occessories to<br />

be mode ovoilqble to homs who could pui them bock into<br />

use with distribution mode through periodic drowings.<br />

At the June 2009 meeting the following Officer ond<br />

Director condidotes were duly offirmed for the Yeor July 1 ,<br />

2009 through June 30,2010: President - Lorry Essery,<br />

round on the rood representing QCWA ot numerous homfests,<br />

conventions, ond informol gotherings, wos busily<br />

engoged ot the 2009 Doyton Homvention followed by<br />

Hom-Com in Plono, Texqs which onnuolly oitrocts o lorge<br />

contingent of hqms from norih Texqs ond south Oklohomo.<br />

Noi surprisingly, Vol, in o selfless disploy of oltruism, reiieroted<br />

his offer to personolly extend his recruiting efforts<br />

to Howoii or even the Fiii lslonds. While impressed, the<br />

chopter's Executive Committee determined thot in view of<br />

prevoiling notionol economic condiiions, this would be on<br />

inopportune time in which to levy on ossessment on the<br />

Fort Worth chopter in order to cover his trovel expenses.<br />

ln o recent development (then) Secretory-Treosurer, Mr.<br />

Wells, reported thot the chopter's meeting host, the exclusive<br />

MidPoint Restouront & Club in Dollos, following on indepth<br />

onolysis it commissioned, determined thot os o<br />

result of on unusuol yeor of chopter meetings in which<br />

there were no ofter-meeting reports of shortoges of plostic<br />

plotes, plostic eoiing utensils, ielly glosses, unusuol consumpiion<br />

of poper nopkins or condiments, necessity of butter-potty<br />

removol from ceiling tiles or ceiling fons, missing<br />

outogrophed pro-wrestler woll posters nor eiection of the<br />

moitre d', the customory surety bond ond deposit requirements<br />

were being woivered on o triol bosis. Mr. Wells<br />

odded hoppily thot the resulting finonciql soving should<br />

enoble the chopter to resume meeting-notice moilings os<br />

well os improve its overoll stonding in the community.<br />

The chopter meets the first Soturdoy of the month ot<br />

I l:30 for lunch or buffet followed by o progrom ot the<br />

MidPoint Resiouront & Club in Dollos ot the corner of LBJ<br />

Freewoy ond Midwoy Rood. QCWA members, fomilies,<br />

guests, ond prospective members ore invited.<br />

It hos been o good quorter for the Chopter ond we hove<br />

only hod two heolth issues but they ore coming olong fine<br />

os of this writing. Our monthly meetings ore still well<br />

ottended by 20 or more members ond spouses. Our quorterly<br />

dinners hove resumed now thoi some of our members<br />

hove returned from their summer vocotion up north. We<br />

look forword to our upcoming QSO Poriy ond hope thot<br />

our Chopter does porticipote. Elections ore coming up<br />

shortly ond we hope we get some volunteers to run for<br />

President AL LaPeter, W2AS presents Jack Colton, W2FIA (l), with a QCWA 50<br />

Year Service Award,<br />
