Firm Overview:
Connolly Bove Lodge & Hutz serves international, national and local clients
in a wide range of legal disciplines. Founded in 1944, the firm began in
Wilmington, Delaware as an intellectual property firm. Our practice areas include
all phases of intellectual property services and all major technologies. From its
Delaware home office the firm also offers corporate, commercial and bankruptcy
services for which the Delaware courts are renowned, as well as taxation. In 2001
we established an office in Washington, DC, which gives us a presence close to the
United States Patent and Trademark Office and the United States Court of Appeals
for the Federal Circuit, the patent appeals court. By 2005, the firm entered
Southern California and opened an office in downtown Los Angeles. This office,
staffed by intellectual property attorneys previously with first tier national firms,
provides the advantage of litigation services in the Central District of California and
other courts throughout the State of California. In addition, the firm is now closer
to technology centers on the west coast.

Intellectual Property
The firm handles all types of intellectual property matters, many of national
and international significance. We have served as lead counsel in trials and
appeals in courtrooms throughout the country since the inception of the firm. Our
patent work has always concerned important inventions of the time, including
miniaturized electronics, pharmaceuticals, industrial chemicals, films, herbicides,
and freeze-dried coffee. We have continued as a major player over the decades, with
significant depth in biotechnology, crop science, computer and Internet technologies.
We remain at the forefront not only in patent litigation, but also in patent
prosecution and counseling, trademarks, trade secrets, copyrights and all other
facets of intellectual property law. The firm has handled numerous patent cases
centering on important issues of first impression.
Corporate, Commercial, and Business Law
Connolly Bove Lodge & Hutz’s services to clients range from litigation in all
Delaware courts including the Delaware Court of Chancery, to the selection and
formation of business structure. The firm offers a full range of services related to
contract and tax law in addition to transactional work. The firm also has a growing
practice centering on opinions relating to Delaware business entities.
Bankruptcy
Connolly Bove Lodge & Hutz’s Bankruptcy Group represents local, regional,
and national clients in some of the largest and most complex reorganization and
liquidation bankruptcy cases in the country. Our bankruptcy group represents
trustees, creditors, debtors, and other interest holders including lenders, government
agencies, trade vendors, landlords, equipment lessors, contractors, asset purchasers,
insurance companies, bondholders and stockholders. We also represent
our clients in all types of bankruptcy related litigation, such as actions to recover
preferential transfers and fraudulent conveyances.
