Bankruptcy
Seyfarth Shaw’s attorneys have represented virtually every major constituency in
bankruptcy cases—including corporate debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, bankruptcy
trustees, and creditors’ committees—in matters of bankruptcy and bankruptcy
alternatives, including restructurings and workouts, and creditors’ rights. On behalf of
creditors, we provide counsel in matters of adequate protection and use of cash collateral,
stay litigation, preference defense, fraudulent conveyance, and executory contract and
lease litigation. Our attorneys also represent debtors in all phases of Chapter 7 and Chapter
11 proceedings.
We are experienced in all aspects of alternatives to bankruptcy, including restructurings
and workouts, compositions, assignments for benefit of creditors, bulk sales, and nonbankruptcy
liquidations. We represent clients from a broad range of industries, with extensive
experience in railroad reorganizations.
Commercial Litigation
Seyfarth Shaw’s Litigation Practice Group has 170 attorneys in nine offices across the
United States. We offer a full service commercial and corporate litigation practice, but have
particular experience in the following areas: construction, government contracts, trade
secrets and unfair competition, consumer class actions, intellectual property, and securities.
Many of the Group’s attorneys are recognized for their subject matter expertise in their
respective practice areas, both locally and nationally.
Beyond our skills as practitioners, we are tenacious litigators who work single-mindedly

Construction
As one of the few nationally ranked law firms with extensive experience in the
complex field of construction law, as well as hands-on experience in the construction
