Crowell & Moring LLP is a full-service law firm with more than 300 attorneys
practicing in litigation, antitrust, government contracts, corporate, intellectual
property and more than 40 other practice areas. More than two-thirds of
the firm's attorneys regularly litigate disputes on behalf of domestic and international
corporations, start-up businesses, and individuals. Crowell & Moring's
extensive client work ranges from advising on one of the world's largest telecommunications
mergers to representing governments and corporations on international
arbitration matters. The firm's range of practice areas also includes two
consulting subsidiaries, C&M Capitolink and C&M International, which provide
government relations and international trade services.
Diversity Efforts: Crowell & Moring appreciates that its success as a law firm
and its well-being as a community are greatly enhanced by creating and maintaining
a diverse team of talented professionals. We value individual differences

In June 2005, the Minority Corporate Counsel Association named Crowell
& Moring one of four finalists among all Mid-Atlantic states firms for the MCCA's
"Sager Award" recognizing law firm diversity efforts. Multicultural Law
Magazine named Crowell & Moring 38th nationally for diversity. Two other
recent awards recognize efforts to enhance quality of life: Bar Association of the
District of Columbia's "Quality of Life Award" and "Washington Business
Journal's Best 50 Places to Work Award."
While Crowell & Moring is already fortunate to have among its equity partners
five nationally recognized diverse lawyers in litigation, health care, intellectual
property, and tax, the firm is engaged in a focused, sustained initiative to
enhance its diversity. We dedicated our recent 25th anniversary primarily to
diversity values. For example, as part of that celebration, Crowell & Moring:
established a $25,000 "Diversity Within the Legal Profession
Scholarship Program" for diverse District of Columbia law students;
created public service summer internships for Howard University law
students at the Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless and the
NAACP;
established an educational outreach program for predominantly
Hispanic students at a low income middle school near our California
office; and
initiated a "Celebrating Diversity" speaker series that brings diverse
speakers to our lawyers and staff.
Pro Bono: Recently ranked 18th in American Lawyer's "Pro Bono Report,"
Crowell & Moring has committed itself — as a firm and as a community of
professionals — to assure that all citizens have access to the legal system.
Crowell & Moring's promotion of broad participation in pro bono work by
the firm's attorneys and staff has enabled the firm to serve a range of urgent
community needs.
The firm has been recognized by many legal service organizations for its
pro bono contributions and has the distinction of receiving the District of
Columbia Bar's pro bono "Law Firm of the Year Award" for two of the past 15
years (1991 and 1994). In April of 2005, Crowell & Moring was one of eight
Washington, D.C. law firms honored by the Chief Judges of the local Federal
Courts for its commitment to pro bono work and meeting the benchmark of
having 40 percent of its attorneys personally provide 50 or more hours of pro
bono service in 2004.
The firm has been honored with pro bono awards from the NAACP Legal
Defense and Education Fund, the International Human Rights Law Group, the
Washington Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs, the
