With the twin converters UFO 721/ UFO 723/ UFO 724/ UFO 725, two terrestrial
TV programmes (TV standard: B/G) can be converted.
The twin modules are equipped with two inputs and one output.
The input and output channels can be set via the control unit of the respective basic
module carrier.
By conversion via the IF, a high selection is achieved, and any conversion combination
is possible.
The digitalisation of information technology holds vast advantages
above all for the end user. The DVB standardised digital transmission
methods alone allow optimal distribution via satellite, broadband
cable or terrestrial transmitting network, granting individual access
to digital TV, radio and data services.
The entrance into digital terrestrial television will be put into action
already in Berlin in the fall of 2002.
Kathrein has included in its product range numerous units, such as
feed systems, matrices, head ends and receivers, which are already
designed for digital signal transmission.
The Kathrein engineers are currently working on a modern, technical
solution of a DVB-T receiver which will receive digital transmitted
terrestrial signals. This can be connected to a receiving system, just
as a conventional receiver.
However, in conjunction with an indoor antenna, the receiver also
supplies high-quality reception of local, terrestrial TV programmes
in a room, where a permanently installed antenna socket is not
available.
The new DVB-T receiver UFD 570/S will be available at qualified
specialist stores as of October 2002.
