The new processing system from Kathrein

■ DCM 40
The DCM 40 from Kathrein is a data-only cable modem and
complies with the European EuroDOCSIS 1.1 standard with a
frequency range of 5–65 MHz for the return path and 112–862 MHz
for the forward path as well as a channel bandwidth of 8 MHz.
It has a Ethernet and USB interface. The voltage supply is delivered
via an external power supply unit. The power draw during operation
is less than 9 watts.
The encryption of the data flow ensures safety from interception.
Upgrading occurs by software downloading via the HFC network.
A USB and Ethernet connection cable is included in the scope
of delivery of the modem.

■ DCM 30
Another data only cable modem from Kathrein is the DCM 30, which
complies with the North American DOCSIS standard with a frequency
range of 5–42 MHz for the return path and 88–860 MHz for the
forward path as well as a cable bandwidth of 6 MHz.
Other than this, the unit is identical to the EuroDOCSIS variant
DCM 40.
