1) A USTA Missouri Valley Section resident for five or more years. 2) Players who have participated in numerous Sectional/National championships and
gained a ranking high enough to be considered an outstanding player. 3) Others who have made a substantial contribution to tennis (i.e. tournament
directors, teaching professionals, coaches, umpires, various administrators, promoters and manufacturers). 4) Sportsmanship and character.

He was an exceptional
player most of his life. In
1920’s, he captained the
University of Wisconsin
tennis team to an undefeated
season. In 1970’s,
he won three different
USTA senior national
doubles championships
–– on three different surfaces,
playing with three
different partners. He was
heavily involved in getting
the first senior age
division started in the
USTA Missouri Valley,
beginning with a program
in Lexington, Mo.

of the Year six times. As
a player at Wichita State
in 1976, he won the
Missouri Valley
Conference singles and
doubles championships.

among Missouri Valley’s
top ranked players.

Valley president, he has
also served as vice-president
and president of the
Oklahoma District Tennis
Association. He was a
presidential appointee to
the USTA Executive
Committee in 2002. A former
player at Southeastern
State College
(Durant, Okla.), he has
been ranked in the top
five in the Missouri Valley
in nearly every age group
–– from 35’s to 60’s ––
with 60-plus district and
section tournament wins.
