ADULTS
RANKINGS: To obtain a District ranking in singles,
a player must play a minimum of two (2)
sanctioned tournaments in the same division, in
which the player wants to be ranked. For a
doubles ranking, a doubles team must play
together, in at least two (2) sanctioned tournaments,
in the same divisions.
JUNIORS
A player's year-end ranking will be the player's
accumulative record for the twelve month period,
not per segment. The St. Louis District
bases their rankings on the "Points per Round"
system started in 2004.
IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE for a St. Louis
district ranking in the juniors, a player must play
at least two (2)USTA ST. Louis District sanctioned
events in the calendar year, in the same
age bracket. One of the two designated sanctioned
tournaments MUST be a district endorser
tournament. A player’s primary address must
be in the St. Louis District to be eligible to play
in our district endorsers.
The boys 16 & 18's will have their two endorser
tournaments for Segment II, in Jan/Feb. The
girls' 16's and 18's, depending on the Missouri
Valley schedule, may or may not have an
endorser for Segment III. Any head-to-head
results, that occur between two St. Louis District
players in an "out of district" sanctioned event,
 Adult & Junior Rules
will count toward SLDTA seeding, and their district
ranking, IF the victorious player reports the
results to the district office and once the results
are confirmed.
For the indoor segments (I & III), St. Louis will
be given 2 spots, per age division, directly into
the Super. For Segment II, the outdoor segment,
St. Louis will be given 6 spots. These will
go to the top three (3) finishers in each of the
two endorsers. The top three finishers in the
first endorser of Seg. II, may not play in the
second endorser for Seg. II, as they have
already earned a spot into the Super's for Seg.
II.
The "At-Large" list is a selection list generated
out of the Missouri Valley Section - not the St.
Louis District. If a player is confident they will
have an "at-large" spot, then they do not have
to play the endorser tournament(s), and they
will move directly into the Super tournament, if
they are indeed on this list. If a player is not
sure whether or not they will receive an at-large
spot, it will then be their decision to play, or not
to play in the endorser. If a player is not sure
about their chances of being on the at-large list,
they should enter the endorser with the understanding
that once the draw is made, they are
expected to play the tournament to completion,
otherwise suspension points will be handed out,
regardless of the "at-large" list. Entering an
endorser and then withdrawing before the draw
is made is allowed, with no suspension points
being handed out. The "at-large" list may or
may not be available prior to any of our endorser
tournaments. Juniors will be allowed to play
"up" in any age division in any district tournament
except ENDORSERS.
AGE REQUIREMENTS
A player is age eligible for an event if the player
does not exceed the maximum age for the age
division, by the last day of the tournament
month. The start date determines the tournament
month.
SEEDING REQUIREMENTS
Seeding is based on recent head-to-head
results of the specific players entered in the
tournament. TO BE CONSIDERED FOR
SEEDING, the player's match record must be
sent in with each and every entry form. We look
at local results, but will also take into consideration
out of district, head-to-head results, if we
are made aware of them. Do not assume we
already know your child's record or any results.
NOVICE CIRCUIT RULES
Eligibility rules for participation for the St. Louis
District Closed Novice Circuit and tournaments
are: (1) the player cannot be ranked in the top
15 in the St. Louis district; (2) the player cannot
be ranked in the top 30 in the USTA Missouri
Valley Section; (3) the player cannot be ranked
in the top 150 nationally.
