in Area 2. Area 1 is all of the
Nebraska District except for the
Omaha and Lincoln Metropolitan
Areas as defined in the Adult
Ranking Regulations as previously
mentioned.

10 Divisions
1. Tournament participation requirement.
A player must play in two
USTA sanctioned or NTA authorized
events.
2. Results considered. Results from
USTA sanctioned events in the
Nebraska District and from
Nebraska authorized events shall be
considered for ranking.
3. Doubles tournament participation
requirement. The team must compete
in the same division in two
tournaments in the Nebraska District
to be considered for ranking.
Nebraska Procedures for
Endorsement
The following procedures will be
used to determine endorsement in
USTA Missouri Valley Super Series
National Qualifier Tournaments.
SEGMENT II
(USTA Missouri Valley Super Events
in June)
Objectives: The first objective is to
provide a format that allows the top
Nebraska players to play against
each other. The second is to determine
Nebraska’s four quota spots
into the USTA Missouri Valley Super
Events in Segment II in June. The
endorsement process is one of
three routes to participation in these
tournaments. The other two routes
are by *receiving an at-large berth
from the USTA Missouri Valley into
these tournaments; or by receiving a
wildcard berth. (See the USTA
Missouri Valley Junior Section for
details.)
1. The Pre-Endorsement tournament
is open to all Nebraska District
juniors who are age-eligible for the
age division on June 30, 2006.
2. The Boys 14, 16, and 18 age divisions
will have a Pre-Endorsement
Tournament followed by an
Endorsement Tournament. The finalists
of the Pre-endorsement automatically
receive two of the spots.

The players who finish in spots 3
through 10 qualify for the
Endorsement Tournament. The
Endorsement Tournament uses a
special draw format to select the
remaining two spots.
3. The Boys 12 and Girls 12, 14, 16
and 18 divisions and those divisions
that have 12 or fewer entrants in the
Pre-Endorsement will have only an
Endorsement Tournament. In these
divisions, the Endorsement
Tournament shall be used to determine
all four Nebraska quota spots.
Endorsement tournaments use a
special feed-in or compass draw format
determined by the NTA Junior
Competition Committee.
4. If a player declines to accept a
quota spot into the USTA Missouri
Valley Super Tournaments, the player
who finishes in the next place
shall be given the spot.
5. In order to encourage top ranked
players to play district tournaments,
the USTA Missouri Valley now
requires players who receive an atlarge
endorsement spot in the USTA
Missouri Valley Super Tournaments
to play in their district’s endorsement
process. In order to meet this
requirement, the highest Nebraska
player on the USTA Missouri Valley
Selection List who receives an atlarge
endorsement spot will be
required to play the winner of the
Nebraska Endorsement
Tournament; the second highest
player on this list who receives an
at-large spot will be required to play
the runner-up in the Nebraska
Endorsement Tournament, and the
third highest player on this list who
receives an at-large spot will be
required to play the third place finisher
in the Nebraska Endorsement
Tournament. These matches will be
played after the Nebraska
Endorsement Tournament at a time
determined by the NTA Junior
Competition Committee. These
matches count for ranking but will
not affect the order of finish in the
Endorsement Tournament because
the players receiving an at-large
spot do not take up a Nebraska
quota spot. (Note that if the NTA did
not require these top players to participate
in the endorsement process,
then under new USTA Missouri
Valley regulations, these players
would effectively take up Nebraska
quota spots.)

SEGMENT III
(USTA Missouri Valley Super Events
in November and December)
1. Nebraska is entitled to two quota
spots.
2. The Nebraska Closed
Tournament shall be used to determine
the two quota spots. The first
objective of this tournament is to
provide a format that allows the top
Nebraska players to play against
each other. The second is to determine
Nebraska’s two quota spots
into the USTA Missouri Valley Super
Tournaments in Segment III. The
tournament will use a special feedin
format determined by the NTA
Junior Competition Committee.
3. If a player declines to accept a
quota spot into the USTA Missouri
Valley Super Tournaments or if a
player will not be age eligible for the
USTA Missouri Valley Super
Tournaments, the player who finishes
in the next place shall be given
the spot.
4. If the player who finishes immediately
behind the player who is to
receive the second spot has not
played that player in the
Endorsement Tournament, then the
player may request a playoff for the
final spot, which request shall be
made before the player leaves the
tournament.
SEGMENT I
(USTA Missouri Valley Super Events
in January and February)
1. Nebraska is entitled to two quota
spots.
2. The spots will be given to the two
players ranked highest who are still
age-eligible for the division on Feb.
28, 2006 (the Missouri Valley
Section list will be used).
3. If a player declines a quota spot,
it will be offered to the next highest
ranked player who is age eligible.
Nebraska 12’s Team
1. The Nebraska 12s team is open
to players who are age eligible for
the division on May 31, 2006.
2. The team consists of ten boys
and ten girls who make the traveling
team and six boys and six girls who
are alternates.
3. Players who made the traveling
team in 2006 and played in the top
half of the line-up are automatically
placed on the team.

4. The Nebraska 12’s Intrateam
Competition is held in the winter to
determine the remaining members
of the team and to assist in establishing
the line-ups. Sixteen boys
and 16 girls are invited to play in the
competition. Players who were
selected to play in the competition in
2005 are automatically eligible to
play in the competition in 2006. The
remaining positions in the tournaments
are determined by try-outs
supervised by the NTA Junior
Competition Committee. The competition
is played over two weekends
and uses a special round robin
format developed by the NTA Junior
Competition Committee.
Nebraska 14’s Team
1. The Nebraska 14’s team is open
to players who are age eligible for
the division on July 31, 2006.
2. The team consists of four boys
and four girls.
3. The Nebraska Junior Competition
Committee selects the players.
Selection will be based on the most
recent USTA Missouri Valley
Selection List that is available when
the selections are made and in the
case of player moving from the 12
and under division into the 14 and
under division on the results of the
Pre-Endorsement, Endorsement,
and Competitive Training Center
competition. Additionally the
Committee may consider selecting
outstanding players who remain eligible
for the 12 and under division.
Nebraska 10’s Team
1. The Nebraska 10’s team is open
to players who are age eligible for
the division on May 31, 2006.
2. The team will consist of four boys
and four girls.
3. The Nebraska 10’s Intrateam
competition is held in the winter to
determine the team members.
Sixteen boys and 16 girls are invited
to play in the competition. The positions
for the tryout tournament are
determined by tryouts and rankings,
supervised by the NTA Junior
Competition Committee. A round
robin format will be used in the tournament
process.
