in it. So Chhotubhai prepared a plan to construct a compound<br />
wall around Shastri Maidan. At that point, Bhaikaka's son<br />
Chimanbhai remarked : “You would cut the trees around<br />
Shastri Maidan, wouldn't you?”<br />
“I am a farmer's son. I would not cut even a single tree…”,<br />
said Chhotubhai. And as he said, without cutting a single tree,<br />
Chhotubhai constructed a wall around 17 acres of Shastri<br />
Maidan by spending 3 and a half lacs. This was his first<br />
important contribution to Charutar Vidya Mandal.<br />
This instance made H M <strong>Patel</strong> saheb realize the genius of<br />
Chhotubhai. He invited Chhotubhai to become the Joint<br />
Secretary. Chhotubhai served with utter dedication to this<br />
position. He completed many projects. Remembering an<br />
incident in this regard, this enlightened educationist says : “A<br />
girl from Jamnagar had taken<br />
admission over here but she had<br />
not found any suitable hostel<br />
room for her. So she called up her<br />
father. Her father asked her to<br />
stay here until he came… he<br />
started his journey but the vehicle<br />
had met with an accident.<br />
Fortunately he didn't get himself hurt. So he came and met me<br />
and talked about the unavailability of a suitable hostel room<br />
for his daughter. So I discussed the problem with <strong>Patel</strong>saheb :<br />
