“At that time, those who had a small lari or galla, used to<br />
stay illegally in the hostels. One rouge named Gabbarsinh<br />
Sardarji was also one of such type. In certain cases, students<br />
had to be admitted to some colleges because he<br />
recommended them. In one case, he charged Rs. 2000 for an<br />
admission in Polytechnic. I used to keep a hockey stick with<br />
me in those days… One day I went with my hockey stick and<br />
fetched Gabbarsinh till Polytechnic beating him all the while<br />
from Mota Bazaar. And I said, 'Return that amount of Rs.<br />
2000…' He returned Rs. 2000 and never returned again.”<br />
Chhotubhai also taught a lesson to another rouge. It<br />
happened when Rameshbhai Trivedi was the Principal in T V <strong>Patel</strong><br />
High School. Once he met Chhotubhai and complained : 'A rouge<br />
stands on the staircase and causes the girls to fall by tripping.<br />
But he is from Karamsad so we can't do anything to him.”<br />
“You don't worry. I will come during the recess today.”,<br />
said Chhotubhai and reached there on time. He gave such a<br />
