generated from 20,000 students. So Chhotubhai wanted to<br />

introduce this additional fee in the form of environmental<br />

preservation. But Shanubhai, the then Principal of BJVM,<br />

dissuaded him saying, 'Sir, please don't do this… It would<br />

really put you in trouble. In times of Bhaikaka, there was a<br />

strike. And H M <strong>Patel</strong> was a big name so somehow he handled<br />

it. But people would really throw you out.'<br />

“They would only throw me out, right? They can't do<br />

anything else. See, I am not unemployed. I have my property<br />

at home. I come in my own car and don't use any money of<br />

Mandal for my personal purposes. So why should I worry?”<br />

Thus, Chhotubhai took a bold step and introduced the<br />

Environment Preservation fee. The entrance fee was<br />
