“We still even use the good old<br />

ad hesive label. However, it is now<br />

digital and is called a banner. Our<br />

exhibitors can individually add the<br />

hall and stand number to the digital<br />

banner and quickly place it on their<br />

homepages or e-mails for advertising<br />

purposes.”<br />

Additional multimedia benefits of this<br />

kind have also made inroads into traditional<br />

trade fair catalogues. Trade<br />

visitors can find so-called QR codes<br />

printed there: small squares comprising<br />

black and white dots which can be<br />

scanned with smartphones and show<br />

trade visitors additional information<br />

about requested exhibitors on the mobile<br />

phone display screen.<br />

All catalogue entries, including the<br />

related links, are also shown on the<br />

homepages of the individual trade<br />

fair or exhibition. This is an ideal opportunity,<br />

especially for trade visitors,<br />

to obtain information about exhibitors<br />

according to specific target groups in<br />

the run-up to the event. Or to keep<br />

their agenda right up to date during the<br />

trade fair or exhibition. “During the<br />

education trade fair didacta, we updated<br />

all the approximately 1,600 individual<br />

programme items every hour<br />

where required”, says Walter in regard<br />

to one of the most demanding projects<br />
