contexts of the family, school,
community, university, profession,
voluntary organisations and the
The Centre believes that character
strengths: (a) are critical to human
flourishing; (b) can be exercised
within all human contexts; and (c)
are educable. The Centre believes
that central to the moral world is
the development of virtues – that is,
the dispositions that characterise a
distinctly human form of life and
which influence how we think and
act in the particular situations that
confront us.
