as well. In the like profile the source characteristic value combinations
are maintained – i.e. where the history is taken from. The like profile is
assigned to the target CVCs (for the characteristics defined in the basic
life cycle) with the radio button ‘assign life cycle’ in the transaction
/SAPAPO/MSDP_FCST1.
For the phase-in and the phase-out a new time series is defined in which
a percentage value for the specified number of periods is maintained. The
forecast is decreased to that percentage value. The phase-in and the phaseout
profiles are defined with absolute dates, i.e. it is not possible to have
one phase-in profile relative to the start of the forecast horizon.
Figure 4.28 shows the life cycle planning settings for the substitution of
PROD_OLD by PROD_NEW, where the history for the statistical forecast of
the new product is composed to 80% of the old product and to 20% of the
current product.
