In these heuristics the planning algorithm and its parameters are defined. In the PP/DS module heuristics are available for different objectives as scheduling, fixing the pegging and more. To see whether a heuristic is suited for production planning the properties of the heuristic can be checked in the table /SAPAPO/HEURFUNC. For production planning heuristics the field PROD_HEUR contains an entry. The PP/DS heuristics are displayed and maintained with the transaction /SAPAPO/CDPSC11. The standard algorithm set by default in the global parameters for production planning is /SAPAPO/HEU_PLAN_STANDARDLOTS, which is used in the standard heuristic SAP_PP_002. Production planning consists of the steps 1. net requirements calculation 2. procurement quantity calculation and 3. source determination.
