“Amazing Race” Through Kohl’s
for Diabetes
Kohl’s is more than a great place to shop. Kohl’s is also a wonderful
community partner that truly shows “Kohl’s Cares for Kids.”
Through the sale of Kohl’s Cares® books and plush toy sets, the
proceeds benefit children’s health and education programs nationwide.
Since 2006, over $75,000 has been raised by the Cape Girardeau Kohl’s
toys and books help to support the Kohl’s Youth Diabetes Care Network,
a service of SoutheastHEALTH Diabetes Center.
In celebration of the partnership with Southeast, an “Amazing Race”
was held in November 2010 for Kohl’s shoppers. The event featured
activities planned by the Certified Diabetes Educators at the Southeast-
HEALTH Diabetes Center to help individuals learn more about
diabetes. The culmination of the event was the presentation of a check
for $20,090 to SoutheastHEALTH Foundation for the Kohl’s Youth
Diabetes Care Network for 2011.
