caring and
generous neighbors
Neighbors helping neighbors. This is what
makes a community vibrant and strong.
Once again, the generosity of people
from within and around our community has
helped the Foundation support programs
and services at SoutheastHEALTH. The
Board of Directors and staff are sincerely
grateful for your help.
As you read through this report, you will see
highlights of this year’s activities and successes.
You will learn, for instance, that the Foundation
provided $452,790 of financial support
to the programs and services of Southeast-
HEALTH which would not otherwise be
available to assist individuals and families
with their healthcare needs.
Other accomplishments include our sixth
year of collaboration with Kohl’s Department
Stores through the Kohl’s Youth Diabetes
Care Network in partnership with Southeast-
HEALTH. Programs offered through this
network address prevention, detection and
other unique needs of children living with
diabetes and their families.
As you will see in the pages to follow, the
Foundation had a highly successful year.
Your generosity allows us to continue going
above and beyond to provide quality healthcare
and access to vital health and wellness
programs for our community and throughout
the region. People are motivated to
support SoutheastHEALTH for many
reasons. Some give in gratitude for the care
they or a loved one received at the Hospital or
because they have been personally affected by
a specific disease. Others simply want to
support SoutheastHEALTH in recognition of
the excellent care provided to all patients.
The gifts we receive on behalf of Southeast-
HEALTH come in many forms and sizes, and
all of them are important. Even a modest
contribution, when pooled with other gifts,
can be tremendously effective. It can help
purchase a needed piece of equipment,
provide a service for patients or professional
development for SoutheastHEALTH staff.
As you know, 2011 is expected to be a challenging
year for foundations and not-for-profit
organizations, and we sincerely appreciate all
of your efforts. On behalf of the Foundation
Board of Directors and staff, the physicians
and employees of SoutheastHEALTH, and,
most importantly, our patients and their
families, thank you for your continued support.
