Annual Share Walk
On a beautiful fall Saturday in October, over 50
people from throughout the area gathered at Cape
County Park for the annual Share “Walk to Remember.”
Share of Southeast Hospital serves families
and caregivers by providing free peer counseling,
information, education and care for families who have
experienced miscarriage, stillbirth and neonatal death.
Following a memorial service and one-mile walk, a
balloon release honored families who attended the walk
and the babies for whom they grieve.
The continuation and success of the SoutheastHEALTH
Share program relies solely upon the support of the
Foundation. Gayle Unverferth and Linda Logan, Share
program coordinators, say this support enables them to
provide care, comfort, and other resources to our Share
families. “We would not be able to sustain this program
without the Foundation.”
Barb Enderle Share’s
Support
Barb and Kyle Enderle lost their baby girl,
Kyla Jo Enderle, June 25, 2003. Every
year since their tragic loss, the Enderles
present a gift basket to the first girl born at
Southeast on their daughter’s birthday in
loving memory of Kyla Jo. Barb explains, “It’s
a way to celebrate Kyla’s birthday and help
another parent celebrate the birth of their
daughter too.”
Barb is a volunteer with the Southeast Share
program which offers counseling and
support to families who have experienced
the loss of a baby. Barb says, “The Share
volunteers were such a blessing to us. That’s
why I became involved. Share provides the
support to work through the overwhelming
grief as well as providing burial for the
babies of those families who cannot afford it.
Share also gives the family some items that
provide tangible proof that they indeed had
a precious baby. This program is so valuable
for those families. Thank you, Southeast-
HEALTH Foundation.”
