Switzerland in the heart of London<br />
A week before the beginning of the<br />
<strong>Olympic</strong> Games, on 20 July 2012, the<br />
House of Switzerland with its animated<br />
“Red Zone” opens its doors in the<br />
heart of London, just 20 minutes from<br />
the <strong>Olympic</strong> Park. Over the following<br />
24 days, the Federal Department of Foreign<br />
Affairs, Presence Switzerland with<br />
many partners representing <strong>Swiss</strong> tourism,<br />
business, culture, politics and gastronomy<br />
will present a creative and<br />
innovative image of Switzerland.<br />
A place to relax and refresh<br />
The House of Switzerland is above all<br />
the official meeting place for <strong>Swiss</strong> athletes.<br />
Here, for the first time ever <strong>Swiss</strong><br />
<strong>Olympic</strong> is providing a “<strong>Swiss</strong> <strong>Olympic</strong><br />
Athletes Lounge”, a place to relax and<br />
revitalize. One of the highlights of the<br />
House of Switzerland agenda will be the<br />
official <strong>Olympic</strong> medal celebrations, as<br />
usual conducted by the <strong>Swiss</strong> <strong>Olympic</strong><br />
Team and produced by the <strong>Swiss</strong> Broadcasting<br />
Corporation SRG SSR from an<br />
on-site television studio, which will<br />
relay the various <strong>Olympic</strong> sports events<br />
live to the guests.<br />
A varied programme<br />
of entertainment<br />
The House of Switzerland will at the<br />
same time be a stimulating place to<br />
meet for a wide public as well as a platform<br />
for the media and decision makers<br />
from politics, business and science, and<br />
creative people from all cultural fields.<br />
There will be concerts on an open air<br />
House of Switzerland<br />
stage by new talents from the <strong>Swiss</strong><br />
music scene, short and animated films,<br />
and a radio studio bus hosting the<br />
International Radio Festival – plenty to<br />
ensure a festive atmosphere. The <strong>Swiss</strong><br />
Game Lounge and the Zürich-London<br />
Poster Exhibition will introduce visitors<br />
to the creative side of Switzerland.<br />
A culinary journey from rustic<br />
to gastronomic<br />
Mosimann’s, Catering Partner of the<br />
House of Switzerland, will serve visitors<br />
in one of its three restaurants – the<br />
Bernese Chalet, La Brasserie and the<br />
Rösticceria – where there will be a variety<br />
of culinary specialties from various<br />
<strong>Swiss</strong> regions.<br />
