I. Next Steps
The workshop participants were separated into groups of 4-5 and asked to
come up with a list of ten “next steps” to follow the community Active
Transportation Workshop. They were asked to only propose ideas that were:
specific, measurable, achievable by the people in the room, and capable of
completion within six-months. Additional suggestions were permitted if time
allowed.
Following are all the ideas proposed by the four groups:
Town of Penetanguishene
� Create, develop and distribute trail brochures
� Make accessibility changes to sidewalks and corners (as many as we can
in 6 months)
� Write grant for ecology garden
� Replace (bilingual) Trans Canada Trail signs
� Re-designate and re-line Fox Street Bike Lanes
� Open up off-road trail link to Awenda Park through partnerships and
promotion
� Improve website (make more user-friendly with descriptions and maps)
