The magic of Mozart has once again placed
its spell resulting in a music-themed cruise
for 2013. The demand for Mozart inspired
trips along the Danube continues unabated
and with our friends London Festival Opera
we can promise you a marvellous experience.
This celebration of Mozart’s life will take us
on a journey along the River Danube, from
Bavaria to Hungary through Austria and
Slovakia. On this seven night river cruise, we
will visit small towns and villages as well as
the cities of Salzburg, Vienna, Bratislava and
Budapest, enjoying some of Mozart’s finest
works in idyllic settings. In addition to our
excursions and music ashore, we will also
enjoy ‘highlight’ performances by London
Festival Opera aboard our wonderfully
comfortable vessel. They will perform on
board the vessel in the wonderfully intimate
atmosphere of the lounge. In addition, the
life and times as well as the music of Mozart
will be brought vividly to life by our guest
speaker, who will accompany the trip.

The Itinerary
Day 1 London to Munich. Fly by scheduled flight. On arrival transfer to
Passau and embark the MS Johann Strauss. Moor overnight.
Day 2 Passau. After breakfast this morning, enjoy a walking tour of the ancient
fairytale city of Passau, the
meeting point of the Danube,
Ilz and Inn Rivers. See the old
town and cathedral that
houses one of the largest pipe
organs in the world. After a
short organ recital, return to
the vessel for lunch. Afternoon

free, and this evening enjoy Welcome drinks and dinner, followed by an
onboard performance by London Festival Opera. Sail in the early evening.
Day 3 Linz & Salzburg. This morning we moor in Linz for those wishing to
take the optional full day tour with lunch to Salzburg, birthplace of Mozart
and famous for its architectural treasures and music festival. Our excursion
will concentrate on Mozart’s family and his musical contemporaries. Visits will
be made to the house known as Geburtshaus where he was born and spent
his early life, Schloss Mirabell and the Residenz. Before we leave we shall
enjoy a special concert of music by Salzburg’s most famous son. Return to
the ship and sail this evening.
Day 4 Melk & Durnstein. After breakfast arrive at Melk where an excursion will
include the imposing Baroque Abbey which dominates the Danube from its
cliff top setting. Continue on to Weissenkirchen to taste some of the wonderful
wines of this region. Return to the ship for lunch and sail to the charming town
of Durnstein in Austria’s scenically splendid wine producing Wachau Valley. It
