3. Analysis and Problem Solving
Review both the Guide and the Manual. This is the first factor that incorporates
the analysis of skills used on a Regular and Recurring and on an Occasional basis.
Review the key issues or problems encountered used in the examples in the PDF.
Because this factor deals with judgment and complexity, take the time to review the
Duties and Responsibilities section and systematically analyze each of the
responsibilities or tasks to identify the level of judgment and complexity required.
Categorize each based on ease of identification and the resources used to resolve the
problem. That may be helpful in a quick sort.
Make sure that the examples provided under Regular & Recurring comprise the duty or
responsibility that has the greatest level of complexity and judgment.
Also if you have a duty or responsibility that requires a higher degree of complexity or
judgment on an occasional basis make sure it is noted under Occasional examples.
If you identify in your review a task or activity that is either Regular & Recurring or
Occasional that requires a higher level of Analysis and Problem Solving than the
examples that were used in the PDF, note this and further review the Duties and
Responsibilities section to ensure that these examples can be captured there.
