*** Provenance: the estate of Eardley Knollys (1902-<br />

1991), artist, dealer and critic who ran the Storran<br />

Gallery, Piccadilly, between 1938 and 1944. Lucy<br />

Wertheim (1883-1971) was a prominent gallery owner<br />

and supporter of young English talent, founding the<br />

Twenties Group of young artists, in 1930. She was an<br />

early promoter of Henry Moore, Christopher Wood,<br />

John Melville and Phelan Gibb, amongst many others.
