Flatness<br />

• The roll gap must be perfectly parallel to produce sheets/plates<br />

with equal thickness at both ends.<br />

• The rolling speed is very sensitive to flatness. A difference in<br />

elongation <strong>of</strong> one part in 10,000 between different locations in the<br />

sheet can cause waviness.<br />
