#910 Culinary Artsv�(C.S.)<br />

Prepare to seek employment in the nation’s number one<br />

employment field. Develop skills in such areas as sanitation and<br />

safety, gourmet cooking, baking and decorating. <strong>Career</strong>s ranging<br />

from bakers, sandwich prep cooks, entree cooks, deli workers<br />

and front of the house positions are explored. Incorporated within<br />

the class is actual experience in operating a mini restaurant. Onthe-job<br />

training at local job sites offers potential job opportunity.<br />

$100 deposit due upon enrollment—balance paid in full or<br />

#912 Graphic Design/Offset Printing <strong>Technology</strong>v�(C.S.)<br />

Students will learn computerized publishing systems, principles<br />

of layout and design, masking and platemaking operations, offset<br />

presswork and bindery principles by completing a sequential<br />

series of concept-oriented products. $100 deposit due upon<br />

enrollment—balance paid in full or financial aid on file at least<br />

one week prior to the first class meeting to avoid possible<br />

forfeiture of deposit, and removal from the course roster.<br />

#914 Construction <strong>Technology</strong>v�(C.S.)<br />

A residential house is constructed during this two-year program,<br />

with the completed home sold by sealed bid to the highest bidder.<br />

Students will receive instruction and hands-on experience in<br />

hand and power tool safety, site preparation and layout, footing<br />

and foundation forming, floor and wall framing, sheathing, roof<br />

framing, interior wall and floor finishing, exterior window and door<br />

installation, and exterior wall finishes. $100 deposit due upon<br />

enrollment—balance paid in full or financial aid on file at least<br />

one week prior to the first class meeting to avoid possible<br />

forfeiture of deposit, and removal from the course roster.<br />

#924 Machine Tool <strong>Technology</strong> Iv�(C.S.)<br />

This course is designed to prepare students for entry-level<br />

manufacturing jobs as a machinist. Students will learn to operate<br />

a power saw, drill press, lathe, mill, grinder, fabrication and<br />

resurfacing of cutting tools. Students will also interpret designs,<br />

drawings, and specifications and analyze quality control data.<br />

Prerequisite: Algebra. $100 deposit due upon enrollment—<br />

balance paid in full or financial aid on file at least one week<br />

prior to the first class meeting to avoid possible forfeiture of<br />

deposit, and removal from the course roster.<br />

#927 Electrical Tradesv�(C.S.)<br />

This course will provide training in electrical trades. Students<br />

will learn how to interpret designs, drawings and specifications.<br />

Instruction will include constructing, calculating and installing<br />

basic residential and commercial circuits. Student will demonstrate<br />

the appropriate use of industry codes. This course will prepare<br />

students for entry level employment as an electrician and other<br />

related areas. $100 deposit due upon enrollment—balance<br />

paid in full or financial aid on file at least one week prior to<br />

the first class meeting to avoid possible forfeiture of deposit,<br />

and removal from the course roster.<br />

#928 Cabinetmakingv�(C.S.)<br />

This course will provide training in cabinetmaking. Students will be<br />

exposed to CNC equipment and CAD software, learn to design,<br />

cut, machine and assemble cabinetry components. Projects will<br />

include glue and clamp cabinetmaking. Students will also learn<br />

to finish and apply laminates/veneers and construct counter<br />

tops consistent with industry standards. This course will prepare<br />

students for entry level employment as a cabinetmaker and other<br />

related areas. $100 deposit due upon enrollment—balance<br />

paid in full or financial aid on file at least one week prior to<br />

the first class meeting to avoid possible forfeiture of deposit,<br />

and removal from the course roster.
