In agriculture, the cultivable area is shrinking. The farmers are not coming<br />

forward to cultivate their lands due to many factors. Input cost is increasing due to<br />

non-availability of labour, failure of monsoon, depleting water table etc. The<br />

Government may quote figures in its favour, whereas the ground reality is<br />

different. Middlemen swallow the profit at the cost of farmers. The Government<br />

could think of giving freedom to farmers to sell their products directly to the<br />

consumers without the role of the middlemen. Then only the farmers can able to<br />

get remunerative prices for their produces. Whenever the farmers are getting the<br />

remunerative prices the rise in the prices of essential commodities will come down.<br />

This is the only way to save the common man from the clutches of price rise.<br />
