Operating the Head in Manual mode
The Head can be operated manually by a camera operator using the bars to control the pan and tilt movements.
Hand-controls can be fitted to the pan bar handles to control the camera lens and additionally a Hand-control
unit may be installed to automate switching between remote and manual lens controls. The Head must be rebalanced
whenever equipment is removed or the pan bar handles adjusted. See Balancing the Head and
payload page 7.
Switching to Manual mode
Manual mode disengages the robotic drives and engages drag modules, allowing the camera operator to
smoothly control the camera using the pan bars. Pan and tilt axes can be independently set to manual mode
by turning the appropriate pan or tilt robotic/manual rotary switch fully clockwise and then rotating the axis until
the drag module engages.
Warning!
The FH-100 Head can be used remotely from a
Control Panel. Ensure that the Control Panel
Operator does not attempt to select the camera
whilst a Camera Operator is operating the Head
manually.
Note: A Head mounted on a pedestal can be switched to manual (‘man’) mode without any need for
re-targeting the pedestal.
