THE WURLITZER ORCHESTRAL HARP
The Wurlitzer Orchestral Harp combines the strongest features of the
best European instruments with a number of improvements which modern
skill and research have made possible.
Although the harp is the oldest of musical instruments, many years
passed before any decided improvements were made in its construction.
This was largely because the manufacture of the harp has been con­
fined principally to private makers, or to manufacturers who produced the
instrument on a small scale only, and these did not have the time or means
to devote to the experimental work necessary for improvement.
We entered the harp field bfecause we were convinced that the harp
was regaining much of its olden time prestige and realized that there would
be a worldwide demand for a harp that would embody progressive modern
ideas and surpass the old style instruments, as the modern piano of today
eclipses that of several generations past.
We have been entirely successful in producing the most artistic harp
the world has ever seen. In doing so we have followed the general plan of
the immortal Errard, with such changes and improvements as experience
and modern methods make possible. These are fully described and illus­
trated in the latest edition of our beautiful Art Catalog on the harp, which

How We Reduced the Cost of the Harp

Wurlitzer Improvements and Special Features
We give below brief mention of improvements and special features of
the Wurlitzer Orchestral Harp. These are fully described and illustrated

The Solid Column: An exclusive Wurlitzer improvement, which pro­
vides a separate groove or runway for each pedal rod, an immense advantage
over the hollow column, having the pedal rods massed in the center, causing
them to rub, wear and bind.
The Improved Fork Disc: .A highly improved disc with sharping and
flatting fingers, combined with a cone and pivot-bearing spindle, wh'ch cannot
work loose or cause a. rattle.
The Double Re-enforced Base: An improvement which effectually
prevents a breakage at the point where the body of the harp meets the harp
column.
An Improved Pedal Box: A tongue-and-groove fastening aiyrangement
between the pedal box and base, which holds the pedal box in true position
so as to prevent the warping of either the pedal box or the base.
Easy to Regulate: The opening on the bottom of our harp is twice as
large as on other harps, so that it can be regulated simply by turning the
harp up-side down, while otherwise it is necessary to take the pedal box off.
Improved Method of Stringing: Troublesome bridge pins are done
away with, a new plan being introduced whereby the harp strings are in­
serted through celluloid eyelets.
Swell D«ors Discarded: Old fashioned swell dour-, for regulating
the tone volume are discarded, and a much more practical and successful
metbru! utilized.
Adjustable String Nuts: .All string nuts are made adjustable. If
through climatic conditions any string should be out of tune, same may be
lengthened if too sharp or shortened if too flat, simply by loosening the
string nuts.
Interchangeable Repair Parts: All mechanical parts are interchange­
able and an exact duplicate may be had by writing us. All screws are right-
hand standard thread, and can be secured from any local hardware dealer.
Double Action Only: The Wurlitzer Orchestral Harp is made in double
action only.
Light Weight: The Wurlitzer Orchestral Harp is from 15 to :!0 lbs.
