Workmanship all that the original Gemunder's name stands for—perfection. It is well covered with a lustrous dark red varnish of great beauty. The back is two pieces of Italian maple of remarkably handsome figure. The sides and neck match exactly. The top is Italian spruce, a carefully selected piece of medium wide grain. The tone is all that could be desired, being full and reedy and of exquisite quality. No. 963 PIERRE ALOYSIUS JOSEPHS $250.00 New York, fecit 1888, Stradivarius model worked out somewhat after Vuillaume's style. Wood carefully selected, varnish golden red to amber shades and very transparent. Its tone is of rare quality, uniform and of great volume and flexibility.
