For Jim, humor offers <strong>the</strong> perfect<br />
outlet to let off steam. As chair of Tiger<br />
magazine, <strong>the</strong> nation’s second-oldest<br />
college humor publication, he oversees<br />
<strong>the</strong> content in <strong>the</strong> magazine’s print<br />
and online versions as well as videos<br />
produced for its website. A molecular<br />
biology major earning a certificate<br />
in quantitative and computational<br />
biology, Jim is exploring one possible<br />
mechanism of complex regulation<br />
of cellular protein production for<br />
this <strong>the</strong>sis. Jim is a co-recipient of<br />
this year’s Pyne Prize and received<br />
<strong>the</strong> Shapiro Prize for Academic<br />
Excellence in 2009. In addition, he<br />
serves as a leader trainer for Outdoor<br />
Action, speakers chair for <strong>the</strong> Student<br />
Bioethics Forum, a tour guide for<br />
Orange Key, and a peer tutor and peer<br />
academic advisor at Wilson College.<br />
