Principles of traditional Instrument Procedure design 1. Track and Fix tolerances, , and MOC The horizontal width of the Protected Area is determined by various tolerances relating to where an aircraft could be located whilst flying the procedure The key tolerance is based on the type of radio aid being tracked and distance from it.
