mould management, Pro-
File advanced the way
tooling activity and data
were tracked. It continues
to do so in its new edition.
ProFile is a contact database for
moulds, in which last and next actions
for a tool may be recorded and
tracked. Also, in order to streamline
the management process, it houses
critical vendor and customer informa-

tion for each tool. When an action is
due, ProFile prompts the user when it
is launched. Other features of the software
include work orders and memos
that carry over the mould information
for the recipient; programme-specific
spreadsheets that store tool-specific

data and general information;
an integrated Bill of
Materials programme that
gives users cost histories for
mould components and
links costs back to the actions
being performed; and
several canned reports for
submitting status updates
to colleagues or to mould
owners. The data in reports
can be exported to Excel or
other programmes for further
manipulation.
ProFile 6 provides a
number of user-friendly
enhancements, including
more reports for additional data presentation
options, and more-streamlined
entry of work orders, memos,
and schedules of actions.
