Simulation Software Upgrades Make Designing of
Hot Runner Injection Moulding Systems Easier
The French specialist software developer
Simpoe SAS has recently released
its Simpoe-Mold ® 2009-R1 and SimpoeWorks
® 2009-R1 plastic-injectionmoulding
simulation solutions. Simpoe-Mold
is a stand-alone version of
the fast, easy-to-use simulation programme
engineered to facilitate collaborative
product development in the
plastics industry, while SimpoeWorks,
a SolidWorks Gold Partner product, is
fully embedded in SolidWorks ® 3D
CAD software. These releases of software

to substitute for the creation
of physical mould
prototypes deliver new
functionalities to plasticparts
designers and manufacturers
and to mould
makers.
One of the major new
capabilities introduced
with these midyear releases
is optimization of
gate positioning for multiple-gate
injection (up to
eight simultaneous gates)
for large parts, effected even before the
first simulation run. Also new is direct
reading of Think3 and VX CAD model
files in their native formats. Think3
and VX CAD software users no longer
need to worry about file transfer; they
now share a benefit already enjoyed by
CATIA and SolidWorks users. Other
CAD model files can still be imported
into Simpoe-Mold through STEP, IGES,
and STL file formats.
The 2009-R1 versions of Simpoe-
Mold and Simpoe-Works additionally
provide support of the HTML, Word,
and Powerpoint formats for automatic
report generation and include an
improved and even more user-friendly
batch manager. The latter feature
makes it unnecessary to open each
project individually in order to launch
a group of simulations.
The Simpoe software products are
available in several languages through
