650 tons of steel was disassembled, which was sent to a steel melt
to be melted after cleaning.
All work occurred under the precise consideration
of all work and environment protection
requirements. After completion of the
disassembly work, the foundation area
underneath the two tanks was restored in
early 2010.
The leader of the operation, Erich Theda,
and his six-man team are satisfied with
the results. “It stuck out that the degree of
contamination of the gas tanks was considerably
higher than it was for comparable
