value for a much longer time as shown in Figure 4-4. The <strong>temperature</strong> increase presumably is<br />

due to microbial activity after a sudden inflow of a large quantity of cool moisture, and it may<br />

take some time for microbes to acclimatize to <strong>the</strong> change.<br />
