ACTIVITIES REPORT
Elected council members at 2009 AGM
COUNCIL
The first meeting of the SSA Council (2009/2011)
was held immediately after the 13th AGM on 24
June 2009. During that meeting, the following SSA
office bearers were elected for a two-year term.
• Mr S. S. Teo, Managing Director of Pacific
International Lines (Pte) Ltd, was elected
as President.
• Mr Patrick Phoon, Deputy Managing Director of
Evergreen Shipping Agency (S) Pte Ltd was
elected as Honorary Secretary.
• Mr Eng Aik Meng, President, APL Co Pte Ltd,
was elected as Honorary Treasurer.
During the Meeting, the newly elected Council also
decided to co-opt the following:
ORDINARY:
• Capt Bjorn Hojgaard, Managing Director,
Thome Ship Management Pte Ltd
• Mr Ragnar Nielsen, President, Masterbulk Pte Ltd.
ASSOCIATE:
• Mr Mark McGrath, President & COO Pacific
Division, American Bureau of Shipping
• Ms Seong Koon Wah Sun, Managing Director &
Asia Regional Head, Global Shipping Asia,
UniCredit Bank AG
During the period in review, Mr Kenichi Kuroya
resigned from the Council on 28 December 2009
as he was posted back to Japan to assume a senior
appointment. As an elected Council member,
the Council approved ‘K’ Line Pte Ltd’s General
Manager of Liner Trade Management Division,
Mr Makoto Hashizume in place of Mr Kuroya on 29
January 2010. Co-opted Member Mr Ragnar Nielsen
also resigned from the Council on 1 February 2010
as he was retiring as President of Masterbulk
Pte Ltd.
