Quick Start - Step 2: Reading the digital Address of a Locomotive The following steps of the tutorial require a locomotive with a NMRA DCC compatible locomotive decoder. First put such locomotive onto the programming track and try to read the address programmed into the decoder with your digital system. It is certainly not necessary to do this manual read always when you work with TrainProgrammer, but for this tutorial this step is recommended to verify, that the digital system, the locomotive and the decoder are correctly working. Do not proceed until you have been able to successfully read the address from the decoder with your digital system. 13
After Step 1 the screen display of TrainProgrammer should look as follows: 14 Diagram 5: TrainProgrammer initial screen Press to the ‘+’ marking left of the entry Basic Configuration in the Option column and then to the same marking left of the entry Address. These options should be expanded now like expanded folder entries in the File Explorer of the Microsoft Windows system.
