In discussing the challenges WCP faces in doing business in today’s marketplace, Ferguson said staying abreast with online platforms is high on the list. A challenge facing the industry as a whole, Ferguson said, is attracting new sales people. “There are many people at, or approaching, retirement age,” she said. “As in many trades and industries, there are not a lot of young people entering the market.” As for the future of WCP, Ferguson is anticipating more growth ahead. “We have a lot of growth opportunities in our market. During the recession, we saw a lot of consolidation in our manufacturing customer base. We lost customers simply because companies consolidated their locations and left our territory,” Ferguson said. “We are starting to see some growth in these areas again. “It is a pretty positive time to be in our market.
