44 November/December 2012 North American Salt Has Second Ice Melter Earning EPA Recognition For the second time in recent years, an ice melter product from North American Salt Company, a subsidiary of Compass Minerals, has been awarded the Design for the Environment (DfE) label from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The company’s Safe Step® Pro Series® 750 Magnesium Chloride ice melter now comes with the DfE label.
