Maintenance Effectiveness
& Reliability
Lessons:
• Learn about the metrics and definitions development work
done by the SMRP
• Understand how the common metrics will assist with both
internal and external benchmarking
• Discuss the inclusion of standard metric reporting in
Master Data Made Easy
Presenters: Ron Torrance & Ken Schmalz,
Kimberly-Clark
Intermediate
Kimberly-Clark Corporation invested over $10 million creating
and loading 50 million master data records into the PM and MM
modules of its North American SAP R/3 client from 2000 to 2007.
Attention is now shifting to protecting and improving quality of
that master data through remediation of existing data versus
standards and guaranteeing integrity of new data added through
ongoing use and capital projects.
This presentation will review how Kimberly-Clark manages master
data added by 350 capital projects annually in North America.
This is done through business process, technical standards, master
data conditioning systems and the operation of a central
master data team to create, check, and enter new master data.
Highlights of these processes and standards will be reviewed,
tips and tricks of forming such a team will be shared, and team
performance metrics will be summarized.
Lessons:
• Central master data team efforts to manage the capital project
updates to existing master data
• Process to manage updates to master data
• Standardization for master data
EAM Process
Eff iciency Improvement
Interactive Equipment Catalogs, DMS
& Inventory Management
Presenters: Dan Stuebe & David Foley,
Philip Morris USA
Intermediate
This session will provide an example of how efficiencies were
realized through integration of equipment catalogs in the Document
Management System with material and equipment BOM’s
in SAP PM. A demonstration of interactive equipment catalogs
used on the shop floor to populate the components section of
the work order for goods issue at the stockroom will be provided.
Efficiencies can be realized in the areas of workforce utilization,
MTTR, document management and inventory control. These
mechanical and electrical catalogs are in electronic format that
provide timely and accurate information to the entire workforce.
CONFERENCE DAY 2: TRACK 3
Usability, Access to
Information & ROI
experience
CONFERENCE DAY 2: TRACK 4
Vendor Track
The ability to review machine parts information via interactive
illustrations and parts lists by machine section is extremely valuable
in asset intensive industries with detailed machinery layouts.
Lessons:
• Proper integration can produce significant ROI
• Shop floor usability and acceptance is enhanced
• Improvements in data management are realized
