Edition of 2009 = Update 2010
INTRODUCTION
The title "Vesaliana" was changed into "Vesalius Bibliography".
The author Mondino (n° 1224) has been changed into Curtius (n° 412.20) and Linden, van der
(n° 1114) has been changed into Vander Linden (n° 1844.20).
Again more than hundred references could be added especially thanks to the indefatigable
search by Prof. em. Dr. Omer Steeno. Several older ones, from before 1850, such as
Gemusaeus, Ingrassia, Portal and many others, can now be retrieved and downloaded from
books.google and are indicated by [BG].
Edition 2011
With 122 new records during 2010.
Edition of 2012
With 75 new records during 2011.
Edition of 2013
More than 130 new records during 2012.
From now on the translations of Vesalius’s works are also included in a more systematic way,
as ‘AUTHOR, X (transl.)’. One may justly argue that translations are still his works, with a
content defined by himself, and, because of this, do not belong here, as this bibliography is
intended to be a list of writings on Vesalius and his works and not óf the works written by
him. But translations unlock the contents of that works for a fast growing number of scolars
not reading Latin, who will be glad finding means to read the passages of their interest in a
comprehensible language, be it not precisely in his words. Moreover, Vesalius himself can of
course not be held responsable for this translations.
