<strong>The</strong> <strong>St</strong> <strong>Leonards</strong> <strong>Academy</strong> welcomed prospective<br />
students and parents to its Open Evening on<br />
Tuesday 4 October.<br />
Proudly wearing their new uniforms, students<br />
showcased their new <strong>Academy</strong> demonstrating the<br />
many subjects on offer including exciting Science<br />
experiments, pizza<br />
baking in Design<br />
Technology, Fair Trade<br />
chocolate tasting in the<br />
Humanities department<br />
and dance routines in<br />
PE, to name but a few.<br />
Prospective students had<br />
great fun in the<br />
planetarium and took<br />
part in 'Architecture<br />
Maths' building bridges<br />
and spaceships.<br />
ON THE BUSES!<br />
Leah Adams and Senang Rai were presented with framed<br />
posters of the academies' marketing poster at the launch<br />
of the <strong>St</strong>agecoach Bus Campaign on 21 September. <strong>The</strong><br />
campaign saw <strong>St</strong>agecoach buses in the town sporting<br />
banners advertising the open evenings. Leah and Senang<br />
were joined by Mr Francies, Vice Principal of <strong>The</strong> <strong>St</strong><br />
<strong>Leonards</strong> <strong>Academy</strong>, along with Natasha Dockerill, John<br />
Piper and Mrs Phillips from <strong>The</strong> Hastings <strong>Academy</strong>.<br />
HUNDREDS FLOCK TO THE OPEN EVENING<br />

<strong>The</strong> Principal, Jenny Jones, said, “It was wonderful<br />
seeing the <strong>Academy</strong> so busy both at our Open<br />
Evening and our open mornings. <strong>The</strong> feedback we<br />
have received has been extremely positive and we<br />
are confident that many parents will be making <strong>The</strong><br />
<strong>St</strong> <strong>Leonards</strong> <strong>Academy</strong> their first choice.”
