Preparing Buffer and Filling Reservoirs<br />

Required Materials<br />

CHEMICAL HAZARD. 10X<br />

<strong>Genetic</strong> Analyzer Buffer with EDTA may cause<br />

eye, skin, and respiratory tract irritation. Read the<br />

MSDS, and follow the handling instructions. Wear<br />

appropriate protective eyewear, clothing, and gloves.<br />

Required materials to prepare 1X running buffer:<br />

10X <strong>Genetic</strong> Analyzer Buffer (P/N 402824)<br />

Purified (distilled or deionized) water<br />

50 mL graduated cylinder<br />

Preparing Buffer for a Single Run<br />

1. Add 5 mL of 10X <strong>Genetic</strong> Analyzer buffer into a<br />

graduated cylinder.<br />

2. Add purified water to bring the total volume up<br />

to 50 mL.<br />

3. Mix well.<br />

Storing Buffer<br />

Store 1X running buffer at:<br />

2 to 8 °C for up to 1 month<br />

Room temperature for 1 week<br />
