THE LIMITED EDITION REVEIL
Whether you covet them or denounce them,
only the most isolated of Tibetan hermits has
not remarked on the evolution of the sports
utility vehicle from a purely utilitarian transport
conceived to go about its appointed
tasks with, at best, the grim resolve of a
party apparatchik during the Soviet heyday
into vehicles with the flash, pizzazz, and
verve of the most exotic sports cars. In drawing
an analogy here by no means do I suggest
that the Blancpain Reveil be considered
as anything other than one of the world’s
most gorgeous timepieces whose every
detail was conceived and carefully executed
to fit perfectly all of the tasks given to the
“ultimate travel watch”. So the first half of
my SUV rant can be dispensed with as irrelevant.
Not so the second half since I most certainly
DO want to draw an analogy when it
comes to the subject of adding spice and
pizzazz because THAT evolution has most
certainly come to the Reveil.
