Youth proGrams Citywide girLs softBaLL Ages 10 - 11 The Citywide Youth Softball League is here. Girls age 10-11 are highly encouraged to play. We teach you the basics of the game, improve your ball handling skills, or help you gain confidence in your swing. Please check to see if we have a birth certificate on file if not retain a copy. Location: Green Lake C. C. Track events include: 50-meter dash, 100-meter, 200-meter dash,400-meter dash, 800-meter dash, 1500-meter run, 300-meter run, and 4 x 100-meter relay. Youth have the option to participate in several different field events that include: long jump, triple jump, softball throw, shot put, javelin (turbo). All participants must register at the community center PRIOR to participation in the track program. Registration must include your child's birth certificate, the youth sports registration form, the Athletes for a Better World agreement and payment of the fee in full. Age is determined by your child's birth year. For Green Lake Community Center, practices take place at Lower Woodland track during the week. Location: Green Lake C.C. □ #53484 4/5 - 5/19 Mon./Wed. 5 - 6:30 p.m. Activity Fee: $35 12 NORTH CENTRAL | SPRING 2010 softBaLL The citywide youth softball program provides players the opportunity to develop basic skills, team play, and good sportsmanship. Players sign up at their local community center, where teams are formed and practices are scheduled. The leagues are for girls ages 10-17. Divisions include 10-11, 12-13, and 14-17 year olds. League play begins on April 17 and runs through June 19. Activity Fee: $35 traCk and fieLd The citywide track and field program is for ages 5-17 years. Youth learn basic technical skills as well as team work and good sportsmanship. Individuals sign up at their local community centers, where practices are scheduled. Community Centers compete as a team. Meets are once a week starting April 26 and conclude with the championship meets on May 26 and 27. Activity Fee: $35 uLtimate frisBee Leagues are available for coed teams between the ages of 8 and 13. Matches will be played on Wednesday evenings at regionally located sites. This is a low-key, non-competitive event. The season will begin on April 28 and conclude June 16 with a jamboree. Activity Fee: $35 performing arts/danCe NEPrE-BallEt Ages 3 - 5 This class engages children's imagination while creating a focus for their energy and enthusiasm. We emphasize motor skills and musicality through games, exercises, and mini performances inside the classroom. We'll use an elementary ballet vocabulary as a language for movement, as well as phrases and key words from other dance mediums. We'll use rhythm, musicality, and fluency in ballet vocabulary to learn the joy of dancing. NEBaton tWirlinG Ages 5 - 9 In this introductory class, students will learn baton terminology and basic twirling skills while developing handeye coordination and wrist flexibility. Students will also learn simple dance twirl combinations. Baton rental is included in the class fee or batons may be purchased separately. Studying piano is a great adventure and special skill that you will take with you throughout your life.
