EErEntals Evans Pool is available for special events and birthday parties Saturdays from 5:30 - 11 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.<br />

Please allow two weeks advance notice for all rental requests. The standard fee for one hour pool and one hour deck time for fewer<br />

than 30 swimmers is $201.50 (fee increase with additional swimmers). We do require payment to hold your reservation. For more<br />

Are you intimidated about joining an<br />

exercise class? Never been to one? Well,<br />

join us for an introduction to aerobics<br />

and we’ll explain all the basic moves. We<br />

will show you how to use the aerobic<br />

equipment properly so when you attend<br />

an exercise class you will get the most out<br />

<strong>of</strong> it.<br />

EEliFEGuarD traininG<br />

This class is designed to teach you how<br />

to respond to emergencies in an aquatic<br />

environment. Skills include land and<br />

water rescues, water spinal management,<br />

CPR/AED for the pr<strong>of</strong>essional rescuer, and<br />

basic first aid.<br />

Required Pretest: 3/25, 7 p.m. or 3/27,<br />

3:30 p.m. Pretest consists <strong>of</strong> a 300yd swim<br />

using crawl stroke and breast stroke. Swim<br />

20 yards and surface dive 7-10ft and pick<br />

up a 10 pound brick and swim 20yds back<br />

to the starting point and exit the water in<br />

under 1 min 40 sec.<br />

*It is required to pass a pretest prior to<br />

the first day <strong>of</strong> class. If student does not<br />

pass the pretest the course fee will be<br />

refunded. Deadline to register is March<br />

EEnorthWEst tEst<br />

This course tests the rescue skills <strong>of</strong><br />

an individual using proven lifeguard<br />

techniques. The purpose <strong>of</strong> the test is to<br />

examine an individuals’ ability to perform<br />

the specific lifeguarding skills on any<br />

assigned victim at the time <strong>of</strong> the test.<br />

Grading elements include<br />

» 50 yards head high crawl under 45<br />

seconds*<br />

» Variety <strong>of</strong> lifeguarding skills<br />

» Spinal injury rescue in shallow<br />

water<br />

» Dive and recover submerged<br />

victim<br />

» Rescue <strong>of</strong> struggling victim<br />

The Northwest Lifeguard Certification<br />

Test is <strong>of</strong>fered on a regular basis at pools<br />

in the Greater <strong>Seattle</strong> area. The test is<br />

sponsored by the King and Kitsap Chapter<br />

<strong>of</strong> the American Red Cross in cooperation<br />

with recreation departments <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong><br />

<strong>of</strong> Bellevue and the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Seattle</strong>.<br />
