First Facility day <strong>of</strong> Closures registration for for Parks classes and is<br />

March Recreation 6, <strong>2010</strong>. Furlough Days:<br />

Because <strong>of</strong> the revenue shortfall that<br />

is cutting into department operating<br />

budgets, the <strong>City</strong> asked employees<br />

to take 10 furlough (unpaid) days <strong>of</strong>f<br />

from work in <strong>2010</strong>. This includes both<br />

the staff who works in our recreation<br />

facilities and Parks and Recreation<br />

management. To minimize the impact<br />

on you, our customers, we will carry out<br />

the furlough plan by closing our doors<br />

on 10 Fridays, our lowest attendance<br />

days <strong>of</strong> the week, on these dates:<br />

January 15, February 12, March 12,<br />

April 9, May 7, May 28, September<br />

10, October 8, November 12, and<br />

December 23.<br />

QuiCk Card!<br />

The "Quick Card" is replacing many <strong>of</strong> the punch cards used through<br />

out <strong>Seattle</strong> Parks and Recreation.<br />

Pick up a "Quick Card" and load with:<br />

30-Day Swim Fitness/Recreation*<br />

$50 (Adult) or $35 (Senior/Youth)<br />

Drop -in Activities at the International<br />

District/Chinatown Community Center<br />

....or get a DISCOUNT on standard single -visit pricing at<br />

swimming pools<br />

Recreation Swims (initial purchase minimum <strong>of</strong> 10 visits) for $37.50 Adult<br />

or $25 Senior/Youth<br />

Fitness Swims (initial purchase minimum <strong>of</strong> 10 visits) for $45 Adult or<br />

$27.50 Senior/Youth<br />

Your reusable <strong>Seattle</strong> Parks and Recreation "Quick Card" will have your<br />

barcode and photo. Once you have a card, you can renew or add features at<br />

any <strong>of</strong> our pools. Sorry, family cards are not available.<br />

*valid for 30 continuous days and is non-transferable.<br />

Diaper Policy<br />

In the interest <strong>of</strong> public health, children who are not toilet trained must wear<br />

swimming diapers or a cloth diaper that has tight fitted legs. Children’s swim<br />

diapers are available for sale.<br />

Things to Know About our Pool:<br />

• Dimensions: 25 yards x 15 yards.<br />

• Water Temperature: 85 degrees.<br />

• Depth Range: 3 feet - 12 feet 6 inches.<br />

• 72 lengths = 1 mile.<br />

• Sauna available for use with recreation<br />

admission.<br />

• Children younger than 6 or less than 4<br />

feet tall must have an adult with them<br />

at all times in the water.<br />

• ADA Pool lift and portable steps are<br />

available for our non-ambulatory<br />

patrons.<br />

• We accept MasterCard, VISA, and<br />

American Express.<br />

• Evans Pool is a multi-use facility and<br />

may be used for different functions<br />

than noted. Occasionally more than<br />

one program will be scheduled in the<br />

pool at the same time. We strive to<br />

serve the diverse swimming needs <strong>of</strong><br />

the public.<br />

• The pool is served by Metro bus #48<br />

Pool Policies<br />

• Please enter through the front<br />

entrance and check-in with the pool<br />

cashier before entering the pool area.<br />

• Evans Pool is a family facility; please<br />

dress and act appropriately.<br />

• We are not responsible for any lost<br />

or stolen items. We will keep lost and<br />

found items for three weeks. Valuables<br />

will be turned over to <strong>Seattle</strong> Police.<br />

• Children 6 years and older must use<br />

locker rooms appropriate for their<br />

gender.<br />
